MCAA STORY

St. Thomas Hands Previously Unbeaten Legnbaz Tech Stinging Defeat, 74-42 The undefeated run of Legnbaz Tech came to a sudden and emphatic end Saturday as St. Thomas University delivered a stunning 74-42 defeat in what turned out to be a lopsided affair. The Bobcats, playing with aggressive conviction, shredded Legnbaz Tech’s highly touted defense from the opening whistle, hanging nearly 70 points on the board and proving they belong in the national conversation. The outcome was a clear statement to the Midwest Collegiate Athletic Association (MCAA): Legnbaz Tech's flawless record was a mirage, and St. Thomas is now one of the team to beat, as they climb to #5 in the polls. The St. Thomas offense was led by a masterclass performance from quarterback Brendan Sorsby, who threw for 270 yards and three touchdowns, contributing 20 total points to the Bobcats' monumental tally. His favorite target, wide receiver Elijah Sarratt, hauled in four receptions for 70 yards and two scores, displaying textbook synchronization that Legnbaz Tech’s secondary simply couldn't disrupt. On the ground, running back LJ Martin carried the ball 26 times for 122 yards, providing the necessary balance to control the pace of the game. Though Legnbaz Tech managed production from running back Mike Washington Jr. (147 rushing yards) and receiver Malachi Toney (135 receiving yards), their offense ultimately couldn’t keep pace with the Bobcats’ unrelenting scoring drives. Following the game, an ecstatic but defiant St. Thomas Head Coach Cameron Long wasted no time dismantling the narrative surrounding his opponent’s prior success. "Let’s be honest about Legnbaz Tech—they were overrated. They hadn't played a team with a pulse this season," Long stated bluntly in the post-game press conference. The coach asserted that his team’s victory was a matter of destiny, not luck. "They built a record beating up on subpar competition, and everyone just assumed they were world-beaters. Well, they finally faced a good team today in St. Thomas, and look what happened. The truth is always found on the field, not in a ranking column." The convincing win fundamentally reshapes the MCAA landscape, stripping Legnbaz Tech of their undefeated status and forcing a difficult reassessment of their title credentials. For St. Thomas, the victory serves as a powerful validation of their potential and provides immense momentum as they head into the late stages of the season. With the offensive explosion they demonstrated on Saturday, the Bobcats have positioned themselves as a dangerous contender capable of taking down any opponent that relies on reputation alone.
