On a website, a million miles down the Information Superhighway, there is a land known as Rotokingdom.net, a place of fantasy and intrigue. A long time ago, this legend began. There were two men, one by the screenname name of Bishop and the other screennamed Monkigrass. Two men who were quite similar and were also great friends. They were coaches of two prestigious schools in the now defunct NCFFL. The two schools had an intense rivalry...one that was respected due to the fierce competitiveness of the game and the great friendship the coaches shared.
One day before a game between Kansas State and Atlantic Polytechnic Institute, Bishop discovered that his wife (SeaShellGo) was an alumnus of Atlantic Polytechnic. This infuriated Bishop, so he insisted on letting his starters stay in throughout the entire game, despite the score being out of reach mid-way through the 3rd quarter. K-State put a whalloping on API in Wichita, KS. A very displeased SeaShell told her husband that she would be sitting on the A-Tech side from then on.

The next year, the A-Tech Admirals were primed for revenge. The K-State Purple Raiders graduated many of their seniors. It was no holds barred time. As promised, Sea Shell sat on the API side. With pride, and Sea Shell on their side, the Admirals were confident. In a battle of heavyweights, the game came down to a last-second field goal by the Kansas State kicker. Win or go home. As legend has it, Monkigrass took his final timeout to ice the kicker and the student section let out the, now famous, cheer of "Sea Shell Go!", which can be currently heard at all Poly home games. The field goal sailed left and the student body cheered on, "Sea Shell Go!" "Sea Shell Go!", as they have for sometime now.
Starting in 2005, the winner of the Atlantic Polytechnic Institute/Kansas State game receives the "Battle Conch", a 5 pound shell found off the Atlantic Coast. It is blown by the winner of the game after each meeting in honor of the great rivalry that all started with SeaShellGo.
