THE UPSIDE DOWN JUG was awarded annually after 2006 to the winner of the MCAA's Groskreutz Bowl. The only father-son coaching battle in the MCAA's early history. The Upside Down JugThe "Jug" itself isn't pretty, but represents years of father-son attempts at one-upmanship.
It seems both father and son were attempting to solve a math problem one day while at the ice skating rink on the CLC campus for a little pick-up hockey. The Jug was serving as water carrier for the day, because the pipes on the CLC campus had frozen solid, and there was no running water. No one realized that Springfield Tech AD Homer Simpson was there, and he was looking to "liven things up" by spiking the water.
Father (CLC Coach Bill) and Son (Dumbledore Coach Will) discussed this math problem a LOT during the skating session. They came to get some water, still hotly discussing the answer. A few swigs of Homer's Brew, and both father and son were quite a bit tipsy. Bill screamed, "The answer is 1903!" and actually wrote on the Jug with his fingernail. Will looked at the answer as written by his father.
He held the Jug up, then shouted, "I've got it!" He tipped the Jug upside down, and exclaimed, "E061! That's it!" The water in the jug dumped on Bill's pants. Understandably furious, Bill sent Will to his room without dinner that night, and the rest is history.
