This was the famous "Long Count Fight" where Dempsey had knocked Tunney down but would not go back to his corner causing the referee to delay his count. Tunney was down for approximately 14 seconds. Then after that point, Tunney recovered to win the decision and retain his title. Jack Dempsey would retire after this fight. |
