The Australians are the big story of the day with Tiger Woods hitting the flag stick at #15 only to have the ball go into the drink. He took a penalty stroke and dropped from the same position as he had played his third shot. Woods later admitted that he had actually dropped the ball two yards further from the pin than the original position, in contravention of the rules. This could have meant disqualification, but after further review, Woods was assessed a two-stroke penalty for the illegal drop. He therefore scored a triple-bogey 8 at the 15th and had a second round score of 73 (+1) Angel Cabrera and Brandt Snedeker are the leaders at -7. Tiger sits at -3. Adam Scott is lurking at -6, as is Jason Day -5 and Marc Leishman -5. |
