Four Eagles turnovers helped doom them at Washington. Ron Jaworski played the game with a broken thumb on his passing hand and it caused him to be erratic. Gerard Williams intercepted two passes, the second of which came at the Redskin 1-yard line with 3:27 to play to kill one Eagle drive. Philadelphia forced a punt and drove back down to the Washington 20-yard line with a minute to play but got no closer.
