Comments: THIS GAME IS NOT FOR COMMON TRADE. This is the only existing video of this game and it is truly incredible quality. It also includes some of ABC`s coverage of the Apollo 17 moon landing prior to the game and some during halftime. Great game that harkens back to the days of the AFL and one of the last great performances by Joe Namath. The Raiders are on their way to the AFC West title and the Jets went into this game still hoping for a postseason berth. On a cold evening on the Bay in mid-December (34 degrees at game time), Namath throws for 403 yards and leads the Raiders 13-10 at the half. He falls behind in a scoreless 3rd, then gets to within one point (17-16) at the 4th before John Madden’s boys finally put it away. After the contest, Madden went into the Jets’ locker room and congratulated Namath personally on his performance – reportedly the only time in his entire career he ever did that. Also, Hall-of-Famer Don Maynard became pro football’s all-time receiving leader, passing Raymond Berry, with his 632nd catch in the 4th quarter of this game.
