Comments:	Notre Dame led by Paul Hornung entered 8-1 and ranked fourth in the nation. USC was a rather disappointing 5-4 after a Rose Bowl appearance the previous year. The Trojans engineer an upset winning 42-20. The score was very misleading as USC led 21-20 into the fourth quarter but the Trojans inserted backup QB Jim Constratto in the fourth and exploded for 21 points spoiling the Irish Season closer.
