A 14-14 tie. This game infamously became known as The Fainting Irish. Twice, at the end of each half Notre Dame players were injured, stopping the clock just long enough to allow The Irish to score and eek out a 14-14 tie. It was the only blemish on an otherwise perfect season for Notre Dame. Iowa coach Forrest Evashevski complained that both injuries were faked to stop the clock. I believe this is a TelRa production but there is no lead in or lead out that says so. |
