This is the inaugural Music City Bowl and the only one in the series that was played at Vanderbilt Stadium as the city was still a year out from having their new stadium for their professional team (Tennessee Oilers changing to the Tennessee Titans). The weather was terrible as there was a rain/sleet mix and cold temps, but not enough to slow Virginia Tech down who put the hurt on Alabama. Rod Gilmore, Rich Waltz and Holly Rowe have the call. |
