Two teams that had promise going into the season but suffered injuries at key positions througout the season fought for pride instead of playoffs at the Metrodome. Wade Wilson, who had been in the league since 1981, made his first NFL start and threw his first touchdown pass to Steve Jordan. This would also be the final career game for the Bengals Ken Riley who finished his career 4th on the all-time interceptions list with 65. He would get two in this game. For Bud Grant, this would be his last game - for a year. He retired in 1984 but would be talked back for one season in 1985 before calling it quits for good. Dick Enberg and Merlin Olsen have the call. This recording is missing the entire 4th quarter. |
