It took Kentucky some time to get going in this one, but they eventually overcame Indiana. Paul Calhoun had an 80 yard punt in the first half that broke a 50 year old record set by Ralph Kerchival in 1933. See future NFL players John Grimsley and George Adams in action as well as future Kentucky coach Joker Phillips. The head coach for Indiana was Sam Wyche, one year prior to taking the job with the Cincinnati Bengals. Verne Lundquist and Steve Davis have the call. |
