If there was one loss that really damaged Cleveland`s playoff chances in 1983 the most it was this one. They probably should have beaten the Oilers, but Houston was ready. They bolted out to a 24-6 lead thanks to Mike Pruitt fumbling the ball a few times, something he hadn`t done all year to this point. They came back in the 4th quarter though with Pruitt scoring three times to take the lead before Oliver Luck hit Tim Smith for the deciding touchdown. Longtime Oiler Elvin Bethea had his number retired at halftime (only a clip of him just after halftime is shown). Bob Costas and Bob Trumpy have the call. |
