STEELERS 42 BRONCOS 7
Terry Bradshaw tossed two touchdown passes and the Steelers rushed for 236 yards and four more scores as Pittsburgh crushed the Denver Broncos 42-7 at Three Rivers Stadium. The Steelers opened the scoring with a Bradshaw eleven yard touchdown pass to Lynn Swann. Denver answered with a Craig Morton 64 yard scoring pass to Haven Moses. Game tied 7-7 after the first quarter. The Steelers would then score the games last 35 points enroute to the blowout win. Franco Harris led all rushers with 121 yards on 17 carries, scored on runs of two and four yards extending the Steeler lead to 21-7. Sidney Thornton scored on a one yard run giving the Steelers a 28-7 lead heading into the locker room at halftime. After a scoreless third quarter, Bradshaw threw a 17 yard touchdown to Thornton giving the Steelers a 35-7 lead. Anthony Anderson closed out the scoring with a ten yard touchdown run. Bradshaw completed 18 of 24 passes for 267 yards with two touchdowns and one interception while Morton finished 16 of 31 for 261 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Moses led all receivers with 133 yards receiving. |
