This was one of the best games of the entire rivalry. Jim Harbaugh led the Wolverines to a win over the Buckeyes that sent them to the Rose Bowl. Jamie Morris had a big day with over 200 yards of offense and Cris Carter hauled in a pair of touchdowns for Ohio State. Perhaps the most staggering stat of all though was linebacker Chris Spielman`s 29 tackles in this game. 29! This would also be the last Michigan/Ohio State game that Woody Hayes would see before his death on March 12, 1987. He had given a short speech to the team prior to the game and there is an interesting halftime interview with him by Jim Nantz of CBS. Brent Musburger and Ara Parseghian have the call. |
