Comments: 49ERS 34 COLTS 31 The (4-1) San Francisco 49ers came in as 17.5 point favorites over the (1-5) Indianapolis Colts, but games are not played in Las Vegas. The Colts jumped out to a 21-0 lead behind two Peyton Manning to Marvin Harrison touchdown passes and a Marshall Faulk 65 yard scoring run. The 49ers responded scoring seventeen straight second quarter points to cut the deficit to 21-17 at halftime. Wade Richey connected on a 43 yard field goal and Steve Young threw two touchdown passes, one to J.J. Stokes and one to Terrell Owens. The Colts came out in the third quarter on fire again scoring ten straight points to open up a 31-17 lead at the end of three. Mike Vanderjagt kicked a 38 yards field goal and Harrison caught his third touchdown of the game, this one a 61 yarder. Down by 14, the 49ers dominated the final quarter. Young scored twice on the ground, once from one yard and again from 23. With Richey missing the extra point on the one yard run, the 49ers needed to go for two to tie the game at 31. Young completed the two point conversion to Jerry Rice and the game was tied at 31. Vanderjagt missed a 53 yard field goal with 1:53 left leaving the door open for the 49ers and Richey kicked a 24 yard field goal with five seconds left lifting the 49ers to 34-31 win over the Colts. Young finished the day 33 of 51 for 331 yards with two touchdown passes plus ran eight times for 60 yards and ran for two touchdowns. Manning was 18 of 30 for 231 yards and three scores.
