Washington 34-24. With starting quarterback Jay Schroeder sidelined with a shoulder injury, backup Doug Williams passed for 272 yards and hit Art Monk for two touchdowns as the Redskins beat the Eagles for the fourth straight time. The Redskins turned a 10-10 tie score in the second quarter into what seemed to be a comfortable 24-10 lead with pair of one-yard touchdown runs, one by George Rogers, the other by Reggie Branch. However, a Randall Cunningham scoring run and Reggie White’s 70-yard return after a strip of Williams suddenly tied the game going into the fourth. The second Williams-to-Monk TD connection put the Redskins ahead to stay in the final period. |
