The Steelers seven game winning streak was snapped the week before in Minnesota, but this was the game where the wheels came completely off. Detroit absolutely crushed them, intercepting Pittsburgh quarterbacks five times in the game and rendering Franco Harris a non-factor. Billy Sims rushed for over 100 yards and scored twice and Eric Hipple played well. The real damage to the Steelers were the injuries. Numerous players left the game and would not return. Dick Enberg and Merlin Olsen have the call. |
