Bjorn Borg still the king! He won against the hard serving Roscoe Tanner (6-7, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4). Borg 4th straight Wimbledon title. First live “Breakfast at Wimbledon on NBC!” One of the weirdest story ever...Roscoe Tanner delayed the game being in the lockerroom (toilet!!!) on his agent (Donald Dell) request. Dell was in the NBC booth, and asked Tanner to delayed his entrance, so NBC was able to run his famous Breakfast at Wimbledon intro for the very first time. Dell elaborated that plan because Wimbledon officials refused to dalyed the start of the broadcast just to pleased NBC who wanted to run his intro. But in the end, NBC got his wish! Thanks to Donald Dell! Before that, all the Wimbledon title matchs were taped. |
