Tye Kartye was an unheralded young player, yet was able to lead the 2022-23 AHL league rookies with 57 points. He was called up to the Kraken for the playoffs, and scored his first career goal in his first career NHL game.

That goal broke a 1-1 tie in the second period. Yanni Gourde tacked on a third period goal and the Kraken defense held on for a 3-2 victory.
