Joe Montana tossed a 57 yard touchdown pass and Lin Elliott added two field goals as the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Los Angeles Raiders 13-3 at Arrowhead Stadium. After a scoreless first quarter Montana hit Derrick Walker over the middle, and the tight end ran 57 yards for the touchdown. The Raiders` Jeff Jaeger kicked a 50 yard field goal before halftime cutting the Chief`s lead to 7-3 at halftime. In the second half Elliott kicked field goals of 19 and 27 yards giving the Chiefs a ten point lead. A lead that would hold up for the 13-3 win. Montana completed 17 of 28 passes for 173 yards and the one touchdown. Marcus Allen rushed for 62 yards against his former team on 15 carries. For the Raiders, Jeff Hostetler finished 17 of 33 for 172 yards but was intercepted twice and sacked five times. Harvey Williams rushed for a game high 93 yards on 24 carries. |
