Comments: The Steve Young Jerry Rice Niners embarrass the Raiders on MNF. This game is a celebration of The great Jerry Rice on a national stage. Jerry Rice caught a 69 yard touchdown pass from Steve Young giving the San Francisco 49ers a 7-0 lead over the Los Angeles Raiders. It was also career touchdown #125 tying him with Walter Payton for 2nd all time. Later Rice would score on a 23 yard run tying him with Jim Brown for the most career touchdowns and later when he caught a 38 yard scoring pass from Young it was touchdown #127 making Rice the All Time Leader by himself. Overall Rice caught seven passes for 169 yards and had the 23 yard run. Young completed 19 of 32 for 308 yards with four touchdowns and one interception as the 49ers defeated the Raiders 44-14 at Candlestick Park. The Raiders were sacked five times, committed three turnovers and were held to just 34 yards rushing. For the Raiders Jeff Hostetler completed 17 of 28 passes for 168 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
