| Comments: |
The 49ers were only missing Jerry Rice who had broken his finger earlier in the week, but they still played one of the worst games they have ever played. Joe Montana played poorly and Steve Young wasn`t much better. The Cowboys didn`t have Herschel Walker, but Tony Dorsett was impressive in the first quarter, scoring the game`s only touchdown. Paul McDonald played quarterback some for Dallas and ironically, Tony Hill played for San Francisco against the team that had cut him the previous month, just 11 receptions short of the all-time Cowboy record. Neither player would make the active roster for 1987 nor play in the NFL again. |
