Georgia had won The National Championship in 1980 and was primed for another run. Clemson won The National Title in 1981 and wasn`t expecting a dropoff. With an injured Herschel Walker, broken thumb two weeks earlier, in a cast there was much anxiety amoungst Bulldog fans but Herschel played and The Dog Defense came through in another battle of titans. |
