The Bruins had a 3-1 lead late in the 2nd period and a 4-3 lead late in the 3rd period but were unable to hold on to either lead. A. Mogilny scored the game tying goal at 17:28 of the 3rd period to tie the game. The Devils then went on to win the game in the shootout. A small historical note, this was the Bruins 1st ever shootout in the TD Banknorth Garden. J. Thornton lead the way with 1 G 2A for Boston. G. Murray and S. Samsonov each had a goal for the B`s.
