Minnesota held on to win this high scoring affair. After two periods the Stars had a 5-2 lead over the Wings. Early in the 3rd period Minnesota expanded their lead to 6-2 with a goal by Perry Berezan. In the second half of the third period Detroit came storming back, scoring three 3rd period goals. They closed the gap to 6-5 but were unable to get the game tying goal. Mike Modano and Brian Propp each had a goal and an assist in the victory. For Detroit Sergei Fedorov had a goal and an assist in the losing cause. |
