Atlanta 21-20. Doug Williams’ three touchdown passes in his first start for the Redskins went for naught as bad snaps by center Jeff Bostic on place kicks opened the door for Atlanta to take away the win. Two field goal attempts went awry due to poor snaps, but the most damaging was a bad pass on an extra point after the Redskins took a 13-7 lead. That allowed Atlanta to take a lead on Gerald Riggs’ four-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter and the Redskins were unable to muster a threat after that. |
